“It’s one of the biggest charity fundraisers we do,” said Sara Mohapp, an English teacher at the school and teaching advisor for the school’s student council.
Last Thursday morning, six members of student council, the student council teaching advisors and the dean of students packed up vans and drove the food down to the Philadelphia sports complex, where Preston and Steve’s Camp Out for Hunger was taking place.
The students arrived at the complex and had a final weigh in. After completing the donation process, the students got to go inside of Xfinity Live to watch the Preston and Steve show live for a little while.

The donation and food drive has become a yearly tradition at the school, and has been going on for longer than Mohapp has been a teacher there.
To make the collecting a little more fun for the kids, the homerooms have competitions where the most effective homeroom receives a pizza party.

The charity work is important for the kids at the school. Middle school students see the drive as a way to do good, while high school students really feel the impact of the good work they do, Mohapp explained.
The drive began on November 1 and wrapped up on the last day of the month, which is when the trip to south Philadelphia takes place.
