Final Defendant Sentenced In 2014 Triple Shooting That Killed Two Men

A Philadelphia man who played a role in a 2014 triple-shooting that left two men dead in Bristol Township pleaded guilty Thursday and was sentenced to prison.

Demetrius Antonio Baker, 31, of Philadelphia, pleaded guilty to his role in the July 2014 drug-related home invasion-style robbery that left Tyrone Moss, 31, and wheelchair-bound Joshua Johnson, 29 dead. Lamel Duffy, now 27, suffered a gunshot wound in the incident and survived.

The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office said the 10 to 20 years in prison and 10 years of probation for aggravated assault sentence handed down by county Judge Rea Boylan was part of a plea negotiated by Deputy District Attorney Antonetta Stancu and defense attorney Todd Henry. Baker testified against Eric Dillard, 28, in summer and cooperated with authorities.

“Mr. Baker agreed to testify and took the stand without receiving a single guarantee,” Stancu told Boylan. “There were times when I looked him in the eye and told him, `You could still be facing a life sentence.’”

A third man, Anthony King, who played a large role in the robbery and fatal shootings was killed weeks after the Bristol Township incident. Police sources have told LevittownNow.com that King was gunned down in Philadelphia while driving, causing him to lose control and slam into a brick-faced building that ended up collapsing on him.

King, Baker and Dillard all walked into the home at 913 Winder Drive around 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2014. A robbery took place and Moss and Johnson were shot dead while their hands were bound. Duffy suffered serious gunshot wounds in the incident but was able to escape to a neighbor’s home before collapsing.

According to court papers, money, clothes, sneakers, a watch and an Xbox were taken during robbery. Previously, prosecutors have said the robbery was motivated by  “substantial marijuana and as much as $30,000 cash” believed by King to be in the Winder Drive home that Johnson resided in. Baker said that about $3,000 cash and a modest amount of marijuana were found inside the home.

Evidence has indicated that King fired the headshots that killed Moss and Johnson.

Baker went out to the getaway car while the shooting inside the house happened, Stancu said during Dillard’s trail.

Before the shooting, it is alleged that one of the robbers said “it’s flat line time.”

Data from cell phones belonging to Baker, Dillard and King were used by Bucks County Detectives and Bristol Township police as they worked to solve the triple-shooting.

“There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t think about the situation …. I just hope that you would find it in your heart to forgive me,” Baker said in court, apologizing to members of Moss’ family.

At the time of his arrest, Baker did acknowledge he was remorseful for his part in the crime.

The judge ordered that Baker and Dillard, who was sentenced to life in prison, be housed separately while incarcerated.
