After nearly three years of preparation, the Fat Jack’s BBQ has opened its doors in the Morrisville section of Falls Township.
Now open in Pennsbury Plaza on Plaza Boulevard, the new Fat Jack’s BBQ location is looking to bring the iconic barbecue to the area. The eatery currently offers eat in and take out options, but into the new year, owners Glenn and Kevin Gross are planning to bring delivery services into the fold as well.

“We’re just glad that we got it open, and we are pretty excited about it,” Glenn said.
Fat Jack BBQ’s has existed since 1993. In that time, Glenn has appeared on the Food Network, Pitmasters and on Fox 29 for various food segments. The food at Fat Jack’s BBQ has won upwards of 200 awards over the years and Glenn has participated in competition barbecue circuits.
“It’s really neat because nobody does exactly what we do here,” Kevin Gross explained.

The lead up to open the store took nearly two-and-a-half years. Some contractor issues pushed the opening a little bit.ย In addition to construction delays, the eatery relies on very specific equipment to bring their brand of barbecue to life.
“You can’t just go to Sam’s Club and buy our smoker,” Kevin Gross said with a laugh.
The new location joins four others in the region. While the menu consists of Fat Jack’s mainstays and signature items, different items to cater to the specific local audience might be added in the future. The menu has been fine tuned and curated by Glenn Gross. Most items come from original recipes from 1993.

In the first 10 minutes of the store’s first day open on Saturday about 15 people filtered in to try the food.
“The community, from what I can see, will be and has been very supportive,” Glenn said. “We’re pretty revved up about the people in the community who have been coming out to support us.”
