Officials say a long-awaited pedestrian footbridge and fishing pier in Falls Township will soon be installed.
ABC Construction is expected to complete the Vermilion Hills pedestrian bridge and add a 60-foot-long fishing pier at Falls Township Community Park by mid-November.

‘Iโm glad weโre getting it done,” said Supervisor Brian Galloway. “People in Vermilion Hills have been waiting a long time.”
The Vermilion Hills footbridge project and the fishing pier addition are among several projects covered in large part by both Bucks County open space funding and a PECO Green Region Grant. Falls will be responsible for funding 25 percent of the total project cost, which is estimated to total about $312,000, according to officials.
As noted by Board of Supervisors Chairman Bob Harvie, the township “lucked out” when no other municipalities were building new structures and the grant money was instead given to Falls for pre-existing structure improvements.

The projects required persistence to get to the construction phase. When first and second round bids came in significantly higher than expected, township professionals were given permission to contract directly with ABC Construction to get the job done before the winter season.
