Middletown police dealt with a wild situation Friday night in the Levittown section.

Police said officers were dispatched to the unit block of Harbor Road for a disorderly person breaking the windows of a residence. The suspect was reported to be using a hammer. As officers pulled up, they found the resident of the home lying in the street after being struck in the chest with a hammer, police said.

The injured homeowner said 45-year-old Harrisburg resident Tomekia M. Bradford arrived at the Harbor Road home and burglarized it, making her way inside. The resident tried to stop Bradford and she struck them with the hammer, police said.

As officers were on Harbor Road investigating the burglary and assault, Bradford returned in a blue 2018 Nissan Versa and sped away when police tried to stop her, authorities said.

Officers pursued Bradford south on Harbor Road to Hollow Road. At that point, Bradford allegedly struck an unattended vehicle, drove across several lawns and hit numerous curbs before her car became disabled on Horn Road.

Police said Bradford fought with them as they tried to arrest her.

The injuries sustained by the resident who was struck with the hammer were not released.

She was sent to the Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10 percent of $100,000 bail.
