The pedestrian bridge that connects the Plumbridge and Mill Creek Falls neighborhoods in Levittown will remain closed for a while longer.

Bristol Township sought bids for the demolition and possible replacement of the pedestrian span that crosses the Mill Creek. The problem officials said they ran into recently was one bid was received and it was for more than $300,000.

Deputy Township Manager Scott Swichar said the lack of bidders for the project could have been related to the time of the year and current workload of contractors.

The township plans to put the project back out to bid.

The pedestrian bridge that connects the two neighborhoods has been closed for several years.
