Bucks County Diaper Derby Entry Deadline Approaches

Final preparations are underway for the inaugural Bucks County Diaper Derby.

The Diaper Derby, which is hosted by LevittownNow.com and is receiving support from Blonder’s Appliances and Jay’s Steak and Hoagie Joint, will take place Saturday, September 23 at the Neshaminy Mall in Bensalem from 9 a.m. to noon in the Sears court.

The family-friendly event will feature several heat races and a wildcard round to determine the grand prize and second place winners. The grand prize winner will receive a $150 Gift Card for Target sponsored by Inspire Federal Credit Union, a case of diapers and a photo shoot from MoShotz Photography. The second place winner will receive a $50 gift card.

Babies racing must be accompanied by two adults, one who is the “launcher” and one “caller.” The adults will stand on either side of the padded race mat and may not cross onto the track during the race. Also, adults are not permitted to touch their baby during the race, but they can bring favorite toys or objects to attract the child.

Babies must crawl the entire race and cannot be older than 14 months as of Saturday to participate. Proof of age is required and adults will have to sign the contest rules and a release in order to participate.

Racers must be present at the event and check-in by 9 a.m. and registration is open until the day of the race.

The entry fee for babies is $25 and will include a Diaper Derby onesie and a one-month In The Know Club membership.
