The ex-husband of a Falls Township homeowner slammed his pickup truck into his ex-wife’s residence Wednesday morning, police confirmed to LevittownNow.com.

Charles Joseph Freitag, 57, of Bensalem, allegedly drove his black Ford Ranger pickup into the front of his ex-wife’s home on Martha Circle in the Fallsington section and then injured himself before resisting officers attempting to take him in to custody.

Police said in an arrest warrant that Freitag was rushed to Capital Health’s Trenton emergency room after slicing his own wrists with a box cutter following the wreck.

Lt. Hank Ward said Freitag needed surgery for the injuries and remained in the hospital as of early evening.

Freitag’s ex-wife told police the former couple had been separated for two years and the divorce was finalized a few weeks back. She said she has not had recent contact with her ex-husband.

Freitag’s ex-wife and another person were upstairs in the home and were not hurt, officials said.

Fire Marshal Rich Dippolito said the home suffered structural damage and had to be shored up.
