One of the area’s newest bakeries is undergoing a transformation to continue serving its patrons while lowering operating costs.
Maugeri Cupcake Company opened its doors in April. Taking up residence in the Bailey’s Shopping Center in Bristol Township, it served customers at a brick-and-mortar location for just about five months. Now, the fresh bakery is closing the doors to its store, but will continue to serve customers through custom orders and festivals.

“We will be fine and we are going to just continue to do what we have been doing,” explained Beth Maugeri, one of the co-founders and owners of the bakery.
Although the location on Bristol-Emilie Road has shut its doors, the mother and daughter duo is making sure the community feels their presence. They are already booked for four festivals in the community, one of which will benefit the “Push Out The Pusher” campaign.
In addition to the festivals, people can order cakes and other treats from the company directly.

Plans for a brick and mortar store have been set back by a bit, but opening a physical location is still the goal of Maugeri. The store that opened earlier this year wasn’t the perfect fit for the business. There was no seating for customers making the goal of as cafe-type bakery very difficult. When Maugeri, and her daughter, Gina, return to the goal of a brick and mortar shop, it will be more in line with their goals.
“We love this area and we have a decent following here,” Maugeri explained, adding their next location will likely be nearby.

Beth and Gina Maugeri have experienced recognition in their work. Their propensity to bake with all natural ingredients led to them being chosen to create Anita Hill’s birthday cake in late July.
