Bucks County plans to spray the breeding habitat of mosquitoes Friday in Bristol Township.
The spray will take place starting at 9 p.m. and hit the following streets: Dixon Avenue, Prospect and Memorial from Newport Road to Newportville Road; and Franklin, Spring, Sheldon and Norwood avenues.

The truck-mounted equipment the county uses dispenses Altoside larvicide at a rate of five ounces per acre, officials said.
“The product is designed to provide effective control of breeding mosquito populations. The application material has a very low toxicity profile to mammals and will have negligible impact on non-target insects and the environment,” a press release from the county stated.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, one in five people with West Nile Virus will show symptoms, with less than 1 percent developing the most serious illness.
