Mosquito Spray Set For Falls Twp., Middletown

Bucks County officials will be spraying for mosquitoes this week as part of their West Nile Virus prevention program.

The spray will take place Wednesday evening in Falls Township’s Vermillion Hills neighborhood, Middletown’s Forsythia Gate neighborhood and at the Morrisville Borough Sewage Plant.

“The treatments will be administered via truck-mounted equipment. The spray will begin at dusk. The equipment dispenses Duet, a dual-action Adulticide at a rate of 0.75 ounces per acre. The product is designed to provide quick, effective control of adult mosquito populations. The application material has a very low toxicity profile to mammals and will have negligible impact on non-target insects and the environment,” a press release from the county states.

Thursday is the backup day in case the weather conditions do not hold out for a spray Wednesday.
