$1 Million Land Purchase Will Grow Delhaas Woods

The Delhaas Woods portion of Silver Lake Park in Bristol Township will be growing by 14.2 acres.

The Bucks County Commissioners Wednesday approved the purchase of the land from Kenneth Plunto of Columbus, New Jersey, for $1 million. The county will also pick up the cost of settlement.

Commissioner Chairman Charley Martin said Director of Parks and Recreation Bill Mitchell has been working to acquire the land since at least 2008.

The entire park will now cover 479 acres in total and features the Silver Lake Nature Center.
