The 23rd annual African American Festival is set to hit Lions Park along the river in Bristol Borough Saturday.
The festival is sponsored by the Bucks County African-Americans for Future Education (BCAAFE.) The event acts as a fundraiser for scholarships given out by BCAAFE and will include displays, vendors, food trucks and music.

The public is invited to celebrate the region’s African American community. Last year, local institutions such as PECO, the Grundy Library and the Lower Bucks Hospital all supported the event. Scholarships awarded over the years have benefited students from the Harry S. Truman High School in Bristol Township.
The African American Historical and Cultural Society of Bucks County also usually has some presence at the festival. In the past, the group has had a table on display showing off a number of historical photographs and artifacts. The organization is working on building a museum in the region where the artifacts and photos will be stored.
The festival will take place Saturday from 12 p.m. until 8 p.m. The rain date is Sunday.
