Although the damage was minor and no injuries were sustained, police noted in a release to the press that the incident had the potential to cause a serious fire.
According to officers, they responded to a residence on Forysthia Drive North and met with a homeowner. The homeowner told police that on the morning of July 5, he discovered a detonated fireworks box in front of his front door, and damage to the ceiling of his front porch, the bottom of the door frame, and to the concrete slab below.
The resident’s security camera captured what appears to be a light skinned male, wearing a black t-shirt with a white face on the front of it, black pants, black shoes with white laces, with a possible tattoo on the upper part of his left arm. In the footage, the subject approaches the front door with the box of fireworks around 11 p.m.. The male then ignited the fuse on the box and ran away from the home, getting into an unknown type vehicle, possible a coupe, and driving away eastbound on Forsythia Drive North.
