A kombucha bar and all around wellness center is opening soon on Mill Street in time for the July First Friday.

Noble Earth has been under construction for just under a year when Joe Rakowski moved into the apartment above the store space and began changing the entire inside of the store in July. What used to be a dental office space is now home to a holistic store front serving in house brewed kombucha, a brewed fermented tea, and herbs and spices.

In addition to serving kombucha and tea in a lounge environment, selling herbs, spices and tea in a retail setting, Noble Earth will also accommodate two wellness rooms for different types of holistic classes and services including therapeutic massage and yoga.

The herbs and some of the teas come from Mountain Rose Herbs and all of the kombucha is brewed in house.

Kombucha, for those unaware, is a fermented tea drink traced back to China and Russia. Today, it has an established place in wellness through professional sports teams like the Seattle Seahawks having their own kombucha brewery to help its players recover from workouts and perform better.

Prior to working to open Noble Earth, Rakowski spent time all over the country and world. He spent time in India and California before returning to Bristol Borough, where he grew up.

“It teaches you how small you are and how beautiful the world truly is,” Rakowski said, explaining how his travels have influenced his vision for Noble Earth. “It gave me a wider view of the world.”

Noble Earth will play an important role on Mill Street. Rakowski said he has begun working to bring Noble Earth to life, he has spoken to a lot of borough residents and people from around the county who want a ย late night, non-alcoholic option.

“It’s bringing another option to the borough,” Rakowski explained.

The inside of Noble Earth is also likely unlike any storefront most people have ever visited.

“We wanted to do something different that makes sense and really makes people feel welcome,” Rakowski said.

The shop will open with six kombuchas on tap, with the capacity to have 12 available. The first few will be named after friends who helped to get the store up and running, Rakowski said.

In addition to working to get Noble Earth ready for July’s First Friday, Rakowski has also been working with other local businesses on different kombucha recipes, including a coffee kombucha for Calm Waters Coffee Roasters and a jalepeno kombucha for Mill Street Cantina.

The next two years for Noble Earth are big, according to Rakowski. Within the next two years, Rakowski plans to open a vegan cafe option at Noble Earth.
