The tentative contract agreement between the Pennsbury School District and Pennsbury Educational Support Professionals Association (PESPA) was released to the public Monday. The release came before the school board was expected to vote on the agreement that runs from July 1 to June 30, 2022 Wednesday evening.
The tentative deal sets a 1 percent yearly pay raise and step/longevity movement for the 625-members of the union that ranges from secretaries and paraprofessionals to bus drivers and custodians.

In a memo detailing the tentative agreement, details on health care costs were released. PESPA members would contribute between 4 percent and 6 percent during the first year on the agreement. By the final year, those contributions would increase to between 12 percent and 14 percent.
For dependents of the PESPA members, insurance costs would range from between 13 percent to 45 percent. In the final year of the contract, those numbers match those the PESPA member would pay.
The tentative deal also states that the district may not subcontract the work union members perform out between June 30 and June 29, 2022.

The PESPA membership voted earlier this month to approve the tentative deal with the district.
The deal that expires Friday was approved in 2013 and was retroactive to 2011. The contract was expected to save $9 million over its term and prevent major outsourcing.
