The 13-day St. Michael’s Fair opens Tuesday evening in Tullytown.
The Levittown-area tradition takes place on the St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church property along the Levittown Parkway. The fair runs nightly starting 6 p.m. and goes until Sunday, July 9.

“This has been a continuing 63-year tradition of family fun and everybody has a good time,” Rev. Michael DiIorio of St. Michael the Archangel told LevittownNow.com.
The midway and rides were being put into place Monday by the crews from Reithoffer Shows as they geared up for Tuesday’s opening.
DiIorio said the fair will offer many crowd favorites and even some new attractions. One highlights of the fair in recent years has been the iconic Dutch Wheel that is programed with a dazzling LED display.

After a large melee that ended with several people stabbed and multiple assaults following one night of the fair last summer, security for the event has been stepped up, DiIorio said. He added that private security and Tullytown police will be providing multiple layers to ensure there are no major problems.
“This is going to be a safe event and fun for the family,” Tullytown Chief of Police Daniel Doyle said of the fair.

DiIorio invited area residents to come down starting Tuesday and enjoy the annual “party on the parkway.”
