Numerous Croydon residents told LevittownNow.com the ambulance transporting the baby was escorted to Lower Bucks Hospital by police officers. Godzieba said the baby was pronounced dead at the hospital.

An autopsy was conducted by the Bucks County Coroner’s Office Saturday morning. No signs of blunt force trauma were found. Godzieba said the initial review appeared to indicate the baby became tangled in the car seat and eventually went unresponsive.

The investigation was ongoing as of Saturday afternoon.
