Plans for a new convenience store and gas station in Bristol Township have been put on ice.
Bristol Township Council President Craig Bowen confirmed that the Royal Farms convenience store with gas pumps along Veterans Highway (Route 413) at Durham Road is on hold. He said the hold up in the project was related disagreements the developer had with PennDOT.

LevittownNow.com reached out to a spokesperson for Royal Farms last week but as of Monday evening has not received a response.
Maryland-based Royal Farms was planning to build the convenience store and gas station on the nine-acre plot that includes three tax map parcels. The lot includes the old O’Connor Freightliner location, the Stadium Bar and Grille next to the vacant Freightliner location and the woods that abut the property.

The location would mark Royal Farms first location in Bucks County after expanding recently in Pennsylvania. Royal Farms is a well-liked brand that features locations in Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and portions of Pennsylvania, mainly south of Philadelphia. In total, there are slightly more than 150 Royal Farms locations, which are owned by the Kemp family.

Royal Farms is popular for their custom-made hot and cold subs (not hoagies), breakfast sandwiches, specialty fries and fried chicken. The company also has a case that features healthier items.
The vacant O’Connor Freightliner was spruced up a bit over the past year, but Bowen said the site needs to be improved.
