The area’s newest Starbucks held a grand opening Monday evening.

Until now, people living in most of Levittown and the rest of the lower end of the county needed to take a ride and go into another building to get their Starbucks fix. But now, the chain coffee shop and cafe has opened their new 3,350-square-foot store at 1501 East Lincoln Highway in Middletown.

Coffee fans showed their excitement on Monday as the newly opened coffee stop hosted live music and presented giveaways.

“I’m always happy about Starbucks,” laughed Lisa, a Langhorne resident who stopped into the new location.

The new location will go a long way towards appeasing the people who aren’t happy about the general lack of freestanding Starbucks in the area around the area.

Erika and Shawn Wilkinson, of Levittown, usually go to the Yardley location. If they want to go through the drive through to get their dog a Pupachino, a Starbucks cup a sample whipped cream inside, they used to need to go all the way to the Feasterville location.

“We are completely thrilled about this,” Erika Wilkinson said.

“We really are Starbucks people,” Shawn Wilkinson said.

The next step for Starbucks in the lower end could easily be the old Sonic location along Route 13 in Tullytown, the couple suggested.

As of publication, there are no announced plans for additional Starbucks in the Levittown area.
