Superintendent Thomas Shaffer gave a lengthy explanation during the meeting, outlining a letter detailing the rationale and logistics of the transfer.

The main reason for the change is to help students in the transition between middle and high school. With the middle school students being located in the high school, the kids will be better socially equipped to handle the change once ninth grade hits, Shaffer explained.

Official transcripts begin being recorded in ninth grade, so the situation of students in their new building will make sure they are prepared when grades begin to be recorded for future consequences.

Shaffer listed in a letter to parents that the building of new homes along Radcliffe as a reason to expect a bumped enrollment for the school. The switching up of accommodations will allow the district to fit more kids.

The letter also lists in detail how students in seventh and eighth will function throughout the day. They will enter and exit through doors near the faculty parking lot. Kids in middle school will have minimal contact with high school students and operate on an independent schedule. Classes for the middle school kids will be held in a restricted section of the building, where high school students will not be permitted. The letter also states that the the same middle school programs and activities will remain in place.

The district, according toย Shaffer, has worked to improve the high school education and has grown class offerings. He added that the high school has undergone renovations in recent years.
