A variety of needed improvements are coming to Vermilion Hills Park in Falls Township’s Levittown section.

The Board of Supervisors voted earlier this week to spend $72,400 to have Premium Excavating, a business based in the township, to improve drainage in the park and abutting open space. According to Township Engineer Jim Sullivan, the work to add a storm sewer that would direct water to the drainage channel would correct ongoing drainage issues reported by several home owners.

Also at the meeting, the supervisors approved two projects that replace the closed and aging footbridge that crosses Martin’s Creek in the park. The project will cost $130,500 and will be handled by two companies.

The first contract will include work to prepare for the new footbridge at the park and installation. The work will cost $79,200. The second with Contech Engineered Solutions is valued at $51,300 and will include the fabrication and delivery of the 60-foot-long bridge.
