Weeknight lane closures have been scheduled for overhead bridge rehabilitation in the area, according to a PennDOT press release.

The lane closures will begin Monday, April 3 and last through Friday, April 7 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. on northbound and southbound Oxford Valley Road between Cabot Boulevard and Big Oak Road. PennDOT said that they accounted for work schedule will be dependent on weather conditions.

The closures, which will take place in Falls and Lower Makefield townships, are for the rehabilitation of a structurally deficient Oxford Valley Road overpass, officials announced late last month.

Crews began rehabilitation efforts on the bridge back in November, however the bridge has remained open to traffic. The three-span, steel-I beam bridge, which was built in 1972 and measures 167 feet long, suffered structural damage when it was struck by an oversized truck back in June 2015.

Work on the bridge is scheduled to be completed this June and is part of PennDOTโ€™s $11,766,000 project to replace six structurally deficient culverts in Bucks, Chester and Delaware counties, and rehabilitate four structurally deficient bridges in Bucks, Chester, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties.
