Two Bucks County Correctional Facility inmates, who conspired to have third parties sell prescription drugs for them on the outside, were sentenced earlier to serve four to 10 years each in state prison.
Raymond Tuthill, 47, and Craig Thomas, 28, admitted to having Tuthill’s legitimate prescriptions filled and sold illegally by two people outside the prison system. The legitimate prescriptions were for Oxycodone, a pain-killer commonly abused by addicts and Clonazepam, an anti-anxiety medication, according to a release by the county.

Both Tuthill and Thomas pleaded guilty before Judge Wallace H. Bateman Jr. to charges including possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and conspiracy. Tuthill also pleaded guilty in an unrelated theft case.
According to court documents, Thomas arranged for Tuthill to add Lindsay Adams, 32, of Springfield, to his prison visitor list. On February 10, Adams allegedly picked up Tuthill’s identification and wallet and filled two of Tuthill’s prescriptions at a Levittown pharmacy, receiving one hundred fifty 30mg Oxycodone tablets and ninety 2mg Clonazepam tablets. Adams then deposited more than $1,260 into three separate prisoner’s accounts, the majority going to Tuthill and Thomas.
Tuthill and Thomas both told Bateman that they have opioid addictions as a result of long-standing back injuries. Tuthill remarked he planned to use the money, in part, to pay for his bail. He told Bateman that he wants to continue treatment in prison for his addictions, while Thomas told the court he has never received treatment while incarcerated.

“It’s ongoing maintenance for the rest of my life,” Tuthill said. “It’s something I’ve got to do or I’ll die.”
According to prosecutors, Brian Kunsman, 39, of West Rockhill Township, agreed to buy a large portion of the drugs from Adams. Adams and Kunsman, who both deny involvement, are scheduled for trial April 18 on felony drug charges.
