Bristol Borough Honors Longtime Firefighter

Bristol Borough honored two longtime volunteers at their council meeting Monday evening.

Carmen Valenti was in attendance on Monday evening as mayor Joe Saxton presented him with a plaque commemorating 62 years of service as a volunteer fireman.

“He sacrificed a lot of his life, going into burning buildings and the such for this town and the people of this town,” said Council President Ralph DiGuiseppe.

When Saxton asked if he had any words, a family member joked that 62 years is a very long time.

Councilman Louis Quattrocchi made a proclamation on behalf of the council for Donald West, who passed away at 92 after working on environmental projects in and around the borough since his retirement. West was also a Marine who served in World War II.
