Police Cars Struck, Road Closed Due To Ice

Icy conditions caused a mess on Maple Avenue (Route 213) in Middletown Wednesday morning.

Police blocked off Maple Avenue between Flowers Mill Road and Woodbourne Road due to icy conditions.

Chief of Police Joseph Bartorilla said two unattended police cars at an accident scene at Maple Avenue and Woodbourne Road were struck by a vehicle that lost control around 8:30 a.m. No officers were in the vehicles, and the amount of damage was unknown.

PennDOT and township crews were called to the stretch of roadway to put down salt to clear up the icy conditions, Bartorilla said.
