Falls Township Fire Marshal Rich Dippolito said he determined the two-alarm blaze at the complex off South Olds Boulevard started in the bedroom of an apartment. More specifically, the flames appeared to have originated in the area of the bed.

The exact cause of the fire was not yet officially determined.

No injuries were reported but numerous families were displaced Saturday evening when the fire damaged 11 apartments in the E building. While 11 apartments sustained damage, four seemed to have received the brunt, Dippolito said.

The Red Cross was called in to assist some residents. In addition, friends of some of the fire victims have been pitching in to help.

Firefighters were first dispatched to the scene around 7:10 p.m. Saturday. Within minutes of arriving at the scene and finding flames shooting from the E building, the second alarm was struck.

While fire shot from the apartment building, the alarm loudly went off and sirens wailed toward the scene, residents worked to alert their neighbors of the blaze.
