PHOTOS: A Look At The Final Days Of St. Joseph The Worker Parish

LevittownNow.com provides a look at the final days of the soon-to-be-demolished St. Joseph the Worker Parish on New Falls Road in Falls Township.

The images were taken last week from the outside of the closed parish that is slated to be demolished and turned into an 18-acre age 55-plus community being constructed by McGrath Homes.

In October, the Board of Supervisors gave McGrath approval to construct the St. Joseph’s Court community. It is slated to include 62 townhouses, two two-story apartment buildings with 24 units, as well as 14 one-story flats. Developer John McGrath told the board the townhomes and flats will be priced between $270,000 to $325,000.

In the time since the parish permanently was closed as a worship center in late-2015, the Catholic Church removed religious items and statues and local police used the building for training.

The parish merged with St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church in 2014 and remained opened as a worship center until finally closing.
