A Levittown-area all-girls flag football team is set to head to Florida to compete in the national championship.
Pink Dynamite, the all-girls team coached by Dave Kane, recently went to New Jersey to compete in an NFL-sponsored tournament. Taking top prize in the tournament, the team was suddenly eligible for the national championships in Orlando at Disney World’s ESPN Wide World of Sports.

Pink Dynamite received its name in honor of the commissioner of the Lower Bucks Flag Football Association, Deborah Karantinali, a breast cancer survivor.
The trip spans January 26 through January 30. There, Pink Dynamite will go up against some of the toughest competition in the country. If they win, they will be announced during the Pro Bowl’s half time show.
“I’m going to be nervous, these are the best of the best teams out there,” said Kane, who have been involved in the Lower Bucks Flag Football Association for 14 years.

“I’m proud of the girls and what they have done so far,” he proudly stated.
The girls treat the team as a close bond, said Amber Seals, one of the team moms. “They really care for each other, and a lot of the girls have relationships outside of the team.”

The girls and parents are excited for the chance, too.
“She’s beyond excited, she has never competed in something like this before,” explained Seals, about her daughter, Arianna, who has been involved with the program for four years.
NFL will be sponsoring the girls, between ages 12 and 15, for their hotel. Flights and hotel visits for parents and other family members will not be covered. To alleviate the cost, the team has been engaging in fundraising efforts. These include a special tournament put on by LBFFA and coin dropping.
