Half-Ton Butter Sculpture Debuts At PA Farm Show


If you’ve ever wanted to see a 1,000 pound sculpture made of butter, your annual chance to has arrived.

On Thursday, theย 101st Pennsylvania Farm Show in Harrisburg kicked off with a tour to the press and the large sculpture that is made of butter was revealed.

Dairy farmer Jim Harbach of Clinton County, Pennsylvania State Dairy Princess Halee Wasson of Centre County and sculptors Jim Victor and Marie Pelton of Montgomery County unveiled theย refrigerated display.

Theย sculpture represents theย Pennsylvania dairy farmers and the agriculture industry. Trees, hay hales, a waterway, barn and waterfall are all included in the sculpture.

Work on theย sculpture, which was made of butter donated by Land Oโ€™ Lakes in Cumberland County, began in mid-December.

The leftover butter will be converted into renewable energy for a farm after the show ends.

Theย Pennsylvania Farm Show features overย 6,000 animals, 10,000 competitive exhibits and 300 commercial exhibitors. It runs in Harrisburg through Friday, January 13.
