An auto parts distributor received preliminary and final land development approval Monday evening for a 27,100-square-foot expansion to their Middletown facility.
Eastern Warehouse Distributors (yes, the company with the green and yellow delivery cars) plans to build the addition onto the front of their existing 200,000-square-foot building at 1050 Wheeler Way.

The owner, Steven Thorne, started the business in 1989 in a strip mall along East Lincoln Highway in Middletown before moving to the former Gold’s Gym property on Flowers Mill Road, according to Eastern Warehouse Distributors’ land development attorney Tom Hecker.
At their current location, Eastern Warehouse Distributors employs 200 people and has already invested $4 million in improvements.
Several variances for the facility have been approved, including ones for set back sidewalks.
