It’s been a rough year for the Bodine family but they got a lift from the Police Association of Falls Township Thanksgiving morning.

Cpl. Steven Langan and Officer Bruce Rhodunda, both leaders in the police union, pulled up outside Lakeview Terrace Apartments Thursday morning and carried a full Thanksgiving dinner to the Bodine family.

The faces of Stephanie Bodine and her two young daughters – 9-year-old Emily and 4-year-old Anna – lit up as the officers delivered the donated meal from McCafferty’s Market.

After the unexpected death of her husband in May, Bodine wasn’t certain how she would provide a full meal for her 10 or so guests expected to arrive at the Falls apartment she shares with her daughters Thanksgiving afternoon.

“This means the world to me, raising two girls on their own,” Bodine said. “I’m thankful for the food.”

For the officers, the donation is a way to give back to the community that supports them throughout the year, Rhodunda said.

“This is a way for the men and women of the police department to give back to the community that appreciates them so often,” Langan said.
