
A New Jersey man was arrested Wednesday morning after an alleged late night attempt to break into his soon-to-be ex-wife’s home.
Michael Scott, 50,ย of Atlantic City, was arrested after police responded to his wife’s home on Bluebell Avenue in Middletown’s Langhorne section Wednesday around 1 a.m.

According to police, Scott’s soon-to-be ex-wifeย was on the phone with a friend when she saw a man crouching outsideย her home near an electrical box.ย Before realizing it was Scott, the victim banged on the window to get the man’s attention. When he stood up, the victim realized the man was her soon-to-be ex-husband.
After knocking on the window and scaring Scott, the 50 year old made a fist and broke a window to the home, police said.
Scott didn’t gain entry to the house and fled the scene, police said.

Theย friend of Scott’s soon-to-be ex-wife who was on the phone with her rushed toward the Middletown home and saw Scott driving erratically away from the scene, according to a statement to police.
Another woman living in theย Bluebell Avenue had a protection from abuse order out against Scott, police said.

Scott is facing charges ofย felony criminal trespassing and stalking and misdemeanor prowling and a summary charge of harassment. He was arraigned and freed awaiting a preliminary hearing.
