Bristol Borough could be poised to receive a $500,000 shot to the arm as part of the a contest that aims to boost small businesses.
The Small Business Revolution program was started in 2016 when Deluxe, a company that provides a variety of services to small businesses, awarded six main street businesses in Wabash, Indiana with a $500,000 grant. A second contest, which is lead by Robert Herjavec of ABC’s “Shark Tank,” was announced for 2017 and before long, more than 14,000 small towns were nominated for the program.

Now, only a few months before the final selection, Bristol Borough has been picked to be in the top eight.
“We’re obviously thrilled by our selection as one of eight finalists out of 14,000 nominations nationwide,”said Bill Pezza, the president of Bristol Borough: Raising the Bar and the point of contact for the Deluxe program. ย “It speaks to the enormous spirit and confidence of our citizens. We are riding a wave of success in town, and this one could be a tsunami.”
There are no specific dates announced, but the team making the selection will be visiting all of the eight towns left in the contest in the coming weeks. Short documentaries will be made and the public will be able toย vote on which town should receive the influx of cash.
