Homeless veterans and others in need gathered at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church on Bristol Pike in Bristol Township’s Croydon section Saturday to take advantage of an event put on by a nonprofit.
Volunteers fromย Salute 2 Service filled the Croydon church with food supplies, clothes and more for the 11 a.m. start on Saturday. The event was Salute 2 Service’s second gathering of the year.

“We just want to provide a day of relief,” said Rodney Wyatt, the founder of Salute 2 Service and a veteran himself.

Billed as pop-up events, the feedback for the supportive gatherings has been nothing but positive. “Everyone is nothing but appreciative,” said Wyatt.
Working with Mark Kolosar and Amy Hauser of Salute 2 Service, Wyatt plans to have many more of the pop-up events as time goes on.

“This is my community. I live in Bristol Township, so ย totally support this,” said Mary Davis, who was in attendance with Lower Bucks Hospital.
Those taking advantage of the food, clothes and supplies seemed very appreciative of the work Wyatt and Salute 2 Service is doing.
