“Once and Again” will run the weekend of Friday, November 18th and Saturday, November 19th at 7:30 p.m. in the Orange Auditorium located at the PHS West Campus, 608 S. Olds Boulevard, Fairless Hills. Each night, the audience will be immersed in a total theatre experience with performances of: โPoor Little Lambsโ by Stephen Gregg and directed by Mary Kay Everett with student director Lea Asplen; โOnce Upon a Playgroundโ by Jack Frakes directed by Mary Kay Everett with student director Andrew Dugan, and โOnce Upon A Beginningโ by E. Eugene Perry directed by Shannon Poulton with student director Roxy Geers. In these One Acts, the Monroe children try to get grandma to tell her usually five anecdotes through high stake tricks; playground tomboys portray the cruelty of youth as a girl is singled out for being different; and finally, a snake with a serious attitude narrates Old Testament Stories in irreverent fashion.
During intermissions, Troupe members and volunteers will sell refreshments; kiss the cast notes and wooden roses benefiting a new stage light system. ย Efforts to raise funds and awareness of the technical needs in Orange Auditorium referred to as โThe Caveโ began last school year supported by social media messages from Troup 830 members and recent Alumni. ย ย Because of the age and seriousness of deficiencies in the existing light system, fixing broken parts and changing to LED bulbs is not an option. ย โThe unreliability of the system is compromising the efforts of the production team and performers.ย We want to help Pennsbury maintain its well-known reputation for excellence in the Theatre and Arts by purchasing a new light board, the cost of which approximates $30,000 depending on the specifications and available funds,โย said Deborah Tazza, Co-President of the Pennsbury Drama Parents nonprofit organization. ย In addition, Technician and Lighting Chief Charlie Santella added, โA new lighting control system will allow student technicians to fully express themselves in the form of dynamic lighting designs for the various shows throughout the school year.โ ย
Tickets for “Once and Again” are $7 and available at the door. ย
