Middletown middle school students thanked those who have served in advance of Veterans Day.

Students at Maple Point Middle School took time Thursday to thank dozens of local veterans from all branches of the military, including a veteran who served in England’s Royal Air Force.

Along with speeches from teachers, performances of patriotic songs and Taps, Thomas Hauserman Jr., commander of VFW Post 6393 in Yardley and a Navy Vietnam Veteran, was the keynote speaker. Hauserman explained to students that veterans were all ages, all races and religious. In addition, he saluted those who served the country in the military.

At the end of the event, the veterans and students went outside to take a photo with a large American flag painted on the side of an embankment.
