SEPTA Regional Rail lines will be experiencing delays and cancellations during Tuesday’s rush hour.

SEPTA officials are “recommending passengers seek alternative modes of travel” for the evening commute, according to a press statement.

“The pickets are blocking access to some facilities where Regional Rail train crews report to work. SEPTA is seeking a court injunction that will allow Regional Rail employees to report to their assigned work locations,” the statement said.

Workers who operate the public transit system’s trolley, bus and subway went on strike at midnight Tuesday after contract talks broke down. Transport Workers Union Local 234 represents the striking workers.

Regional Rail service was not expected to be stopped due to the strike. However, crowded Regional Rail trains on the Trenton and West Trenton lines were commonplace Tuesday morning.
