This weekend marks four years since Hurricane Sandy made landfall in New Jersey on October 29, 2012. After making landfall near Atlantic City, the storm moved through the Mid-Atlantic region, causing damage up and down the coast and inland areas.
The Levittown area was among the hardest impacted regions in Pennsylvania. At one point, nearly all the PECO customers in Bristol Township were without service. The outages that stretched from Langhorne to Falls Township lasted for days and, in some cases, more than a week.

The National Guard was called in to help Bristol Township police patrol the streets. Authorities in Bristol Township and Middletown distributed Meals-Ready-To-Eat to residents who needed food. Lines at the few open restaurants were long in the days following the storm.
