The Pennsylvania Turnpike remained closed in Bristol Township Friday afternoon as crews worked to repair down utility lines.
6abc.com reported that the closure of the Turnpike could last through the evening rush hour.

As of 4:30 p.m., PECO had completed repair work on their lines that were drooping over the highway near the Bristol-Oxford Valley overpass and cable and telephone lines were in the process of being repaired, PECO spokesperson Liz Williamson said.
The Pennsylvania Turnpike continued to detour traffic between Bensalem and the Delaware Valley interchange and sent drivers on local roads as the section of the Turnpike remained close.
The problems on the Turnpike started shortly before 7 a.m. Friday when a truck brought down Verizon lines and a utility pole. The collapse of the Verizon lines managed to next bring down PECO’s lines, Williamson said.

The section of the highway where the incident happened is currently under construction as part of the massive I-95 and Turnpike connector project.
