The work will take place along various sections of the road and flaggers will be deployed to direct traffic around the work, according to PECO spokesman Greg Smore.

Sometime in December, the intersection of Old Lincoln Highway and Brownsville Road will be detoured to alleviate heavy traffic for several days, according to police.

Smore provided a list of sections where the work will be completed:

  • Brownsville Road between Broadview Avenue and Old Lincoln Highway
  • Old Lincoln Highway between Brownsville Road and Hulmeville Road
  • Hulmeville Road between Old Lincoln Highway and Richardson Avenue
  • Richardson Avenue between Hulmeville Road and Robinwood Drive

PECO crews will have flaggers directing traffic along Old Lincoln Highway with breaks for high-traffic times, Smore said.

The goal of the work is to improve gas service in the section of the township off Old Lincoln Highway, Smore said.
