During Monday night’s regular council meeting in Bristol Borough, the governing body publicly recognized a number of organizations and causes.
First, Councilman Greg Pezza congratulated and thanked the Bristol Cultural and Historical Foundation on the upcoming annual Historic Bristol Day. The recognition also includes a “modest monetary contribution” to the effort to put on the annual event. This is the 40th year of the annual celebration and this year’s theme will focus on the borough’s last 50 years.

Next up, Councilman Tony Riccio made a presentation to Ellen Scancella of the Christmas Parade Committee. The value of the presented check was not announced during the presentation.
“Thank you to the council members, we appreciate everything you do for us,” Scancella said after receiving the check.
Finally, Riccio proclaimed October 9 through October 15 as Fire Prevention Week in Bristol. During the short proclamation ceremony, Riccio, a firefighter himself, made sure to remind the audience of the importance to stay abreast of fire prevention tips and stay on top of smoke alarms.
