The Middletown Fire Marshal’s Office was at the scene working to determine the cause of the blaze that struck the home in the 20 block of Canoebirch Road in the Cobalt Ridge section of Levittown around 3:15 p.m.

William Penn Fire Company Deputy Chief Jim Bampfield said firefighters first arrived to the home to find flames and heavy smoke shooting from the front room that used be to the garage.

The fire spread to other parts of the house by moving through a knee wall, Bampfield said.

Firefighters cuts holes in the roof and broke out windows during their attempt to stop the flames.
