Volunteer firefighters from Levittown Fire Company No. 2 and officers from the Bristol Township Police Department will be squaring off in a taco eating contest Sunday.

Firefighters and officers will be taking part in a charity event at Margaritas on Oxford Valley Road in Middletown at 4 p.m. Sunday. The two teams will face off and each of the team’s members will have to finish a roughly 2-pound Taco Gigante

The event will benefit the Bucks County Heroes Scholarship Fund, which helps pay for schooling for the children of fallen Bucks County first responders.

In addition to the contest, diners can donate a portion of their checks to the nonprofit if they inform their server before they get the bill. Police Lt. Terry Hughes said 20 percent of checks can be donated to the Bucks County Heroes Scholarship Fund.

Last year, the police department won the contest and Hughes said is preparing for this year’s battle.
