Thousands of people came out to Bristol Borough’s waterfront on Saturday night for some doo wop music along the river.
The 11th annual Doo Wop in the Park seemed to be a success based on the thousands of people with lawn chairs to hear the musical stylings of Russell Thompkins Jr. and The New Stylistics, The Intruders, Cleveland Still and The Dubs, Barbara Harris and The Toys and Frankie and The Fashions.

This year is the first year that police Chief Steve Henry has been in charge of the department, and according to Henry, the event was going very well a few hours into it. There were no incidents or problems to be seen, the chief said.
“This town is interesting,” Henry said in an appreciative tone. “Everyone comes to Bristol.”
The event also had a positive impact on businesses on Mill Street. Concert-goers could be seen patronizing shops in the business district during the concert.

“It’s a great event, and I’m glad that they do stuff like this,” said Andrew Dittman, the owner of Calm Water Coffee Roasters on Mill Street.
