
A Bristol Township man was arrested after regional fugitive task force showed up to the area.
Eric Peterson, 25, of Bristol, was charged last week with prohibited possession of a firearm and a count of receiving stolen property. He was sent to prison on 10 percent of $150,000 bail.

The arrest happenedย on the evening of Wednesday, September 14 when a Lexus in which Peterson was a passenger was stopped by authorities on Green Lane in Bristol Township, according to court papers.
An officer that is part of theย regional fugitive task force and a Bristol Township officer were in an unmarked police car when the black Lexus appeared. Court documents state thatย the Lexus was pulled over immediately. At first sight, one of the officers reportedly noticed that Peterson had a pistol sticking out of the pocket of his shorts.
According to the criminal complaint, after closer investigation, detectives found that the silver Smith and Wesson .357 revolver found in Peterson’s shorts was reported stolen from Bristol Township nearly three years ago.

Police did not release how Peterson came into possession of the gun or how he became a suspect.
