UPDATE: FBI: Langhorne May Have Been Hit By Serial ‘Backpack Bank Robber’

Many of the patrol officers from outside Langhorne left the town around 3:15 p.m.

The Bucks County Detectives and borough police were at the bank investigating the robbery.
From Cairn University in Langhorne Manor:
“Cairn University is operating under secure campus mode. A local bank robbery suspect is on foot in an adjacent municipality. The students of Cairn University are not in imminent danger. This is a precautionary measure. There will be additional communication forthcoming.”
The Neshaminy School District posted the following information to their Facebook:
“Maple Point Middle School buses 10, 19 and 72 are being held at MP due to police activity in Langhorne Borough. Further updates will be posted here and via alerts.”

Police from various departments fanned out across Langhorne Borough Friday afternoon in search of a bank robber.

The First National Bank of Newtown at the corner of South Bellevue and Richardson avenues in Langhorne was robbed shortly before 2 p.m. Officers from Langhorne, Middletown, Penndel, the Pennsylvania State Police and other agencies rushed to the scene and began a search for the suspect.
There were early reports a dye pack may have gone off and police were still working to locate the suspect as of 3:10 p.m.
A New Jersey State Police helicopter spent about 30 minutes flying over Langhorne Borough and a portion of Middletown, mainly focusing attention on the Pine Street and Wood Services area.

Officers, state troopers and sheriff’s deputies were posted at various points around town to create a perimeter.
