Ultra-low volume treatments of the Duet Dual-Action Adulticide will be sprayed behind the Government Services Center complex on New Falls Road in Bristol Township Thursday evening. Additional sprays will be conducted by the sewage treatment plant in Morrisville and at the Bensalem Municipal Building grounds, Bensalem Country Club, Whittier Avenue, Fleetwood Avenue and Gravel Pike in Bensalem.
“The treatments will be administered via truck-mounted equipment, spraying mosquito habitats in residential and park locations. The equipment dispenses Duet Dual-Action Adulticide at a rate of 0.75 ounces per acre. The product is designed to provide quick, effective control of adult mosquito populations. The application material has a very low toxicity profile to mammals and will have negligible impact to non-target insects and the environment,” a statement from the county read.
If weather or an unexpected event delays the spray operation, Friday, September 9 has been set as a makeup date.
