The newest Pennsylvania-owned Fine Wine and Good Spirits store in Fairless Hills is much different than the older stores that have been the butt of jokes for decades.
The new store is located next to Pat Deon Beverages in the Deon Square Shopping Center on South Oxford Valley Road in Bristol Township.

The nearly 10,000-square-foot retail location appears welcoming, is neatly organized and features a larger selection of wines and spirits, including a section dedicated to products produced in Pennsylvania. In addition, the store is among the first in the state to sell lottery tickets, which were recently approved for sale in Fine Wine and Good Spirits stores by a new state law.
State Rep. John Galloway said he’s seen the Pennsylvania-owned Fine Wine and Good Spirits Stores change over his lifetime, and the newest one in Fairless Hills is “impressive.”
Officials from the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) said the new store design is aimed at creating a welcoming atmosphere for customers to browse and make their selections. The store staff is able to answer questions, provide party planning guides, a food pairing guide and addition tips.

Galloway, a Democrat from Falls Township, said he is also happy the new store is “keeping high-paying jobs” for employees. “We’re not in the business of laying people off,” he said of the state government.
The new store is one that the PLCB is proud of and one customers can enjoy, PLCB member Mike Newsome said. He added that it’s not accident the state-owned store is right next to a beer distributor.
