Man Accused Of Punching Security Officer At Sesame Place

Middletown police picked up an Allentown man in the city Wednesday on a warrant related to an alleged assault at Sesame Place.

Luis D. Torres, 32, was arraigned Wednesday on a misdemeanor charge of simple assault and a summary charge of harassment. He was sent to Bucks County prison on 10 percent of $25,000 bail by District Judge John Kelly Jr.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, a Sesame Place loss prevention officer tried to stop 43-year-old Christine Torres of Allentown after she allegedly stole items that were for sale on the afternoon of July 30. Luis Torres is accused of trying to block the loss prevention officer from apprehending Christine Torres and eventually punched the park employee in the jaw before fleeing.

Christine Torres was apprehended and confirmed Luis Torres punched the loss prevention officer and confirmed the 32 year old’s name to authorities.

Christine Torres was charged with retail theft and released on $10,000 unsecured bail.
